Non-Ferrous Alloy Wire Springs

General Wire Spring manufactures custom non-ferrous alloy springs. We specialize in providing each client with a custom spring that matches your exact application requirements, leveraging over 85 years of experience producing springs for industrial applications. You can be assured that your springs will be delivered to you fast and ready for your production line.

We offer compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, and wire forms manufactured using non-ferrous alloy wire. Our staff is available to assist you in selecting the best non-ferrous alloy for your application and will manufacture your springs to your specifications and the highest quality standards.

Non-ferrous, or copper-based, alloys exhibit good electrical properties and corrosion resistance. They are used for electrical, marine, and low temperature spring applications.

  • Phosphor Bronze (Grade A) Wire Springs

    – Used for springs in electrical applications, phosphor bronze exhibits good electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. it is cold drawn and has fair spring properties, so it is not used for high impact or high load applications. It meets ASTM B 159 standards.
  • Beryllium Copper Wire Springs

    – The strongest of the non-ferrous alloys, beryllium copper exhibits excellent electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and strength close to the alloy steels. In addition, it has a low modulus of elasticity. It is cold drawn. Beryllium copper springs are used for electrical applications that require impact strength and are exposed to corrosive materials. It meets ASTM B 197 standards.
  • Monel 400 Wire Springs

    – Used for applications that require performance in a wide range of temperatures and corrosive environments, Monel 400 maintains its toughness and mechanical properties at subzero temperatures. It has good electric conductivity and is highly resistant to corrosion and acids. It meets AMS 7233 standards.
  • Monel K 500 Wire Springs

    - The addition of aluminum and titanium provide Monel K 500 with increased strength while maintaining the temperature resistance and high corrosion and acid resistance of Monel 400. These springs are used in applications that require high corrosion resistance and impact strength as well as temperature resistance. It meets QQ-N-286 standards.
